Celades: "A very difficult, tough game awaits us"
Valencia CF are back at Mestalla on Wednesday night, and coach Albert Celades spoke to the media to preview the game in his pre-match press conference.
Getafe CF
"They are a very tough side who fought for Champions League football until the final game last season. They are well drilled, play in a set way and get great performances from the team. A very difficult, tough game awaits us."
Adapting to 4-3-3
"Obviously we need everything to work better and lead us to victory. We are making progress in ways, and we have to continue like this. We are happy with the willingness of the team. Good things have been done, despite us not being happy with the result -because the demand is of the highest level and I would always like to win. It isn't easy to create chances in these games."
"The players are used to playing in different formations, and many play in different formations with their national teams. It isn't a huge change; the team do some things very well and we want to continue with that, plus have them doing other things that we believe can help us to improve. It isn't a big change, and the players don't find it difficult to adapt."
Rodrigo on the wing
"The debate about this seems like one about a situation that doesn't exist. Rodrigo is playing in the attack. Sometimes he's further over, and others he's more central. It's not a new situation for him, and of course we've talked about it with him. Rodrigo is comfortable and has the responsibility of helping the team. There is neither a debate, nor a problem."
Rotations
"We've made changes in every game and we've not repeated a starting lineup yet. It's possible that we will continue like this. We try to get the best use from the squad, and take decisions with the next game in mind. We will field the best team for achieving our objective of winning."
Gonçalo Guedes
"We are at a club with the highest level of demand. Regardless of the fact that we are happy with the response from the players, we want more. We all demand more from ourselves -not just the players. Everybody on the coaching staff feels the same, everybody at the entire club. We demand that we give even more. That's the path that we are on. It's not just the case with Gonçalo Guedes, but with every player. Despite us being happy with how the players have shown their willingness to contribute and personality from day one, this doesn't stop. This club always demands more. "
Thierry Correia
"He's a young player who hasn't been here for very long, and it isn't easy. Everybody needs to adapt, and maybe he needs more time because of his age and because of Valencia CF being a very big club. He's ready, training well and is another alternative for us, just like Ruben Sobrino, Manu Valleko and Eliaquim Mangala -whom it hasn't been easy to leave out because they are phenomenal in training and have a very good attitude."
